Our Environmental Statement
At Montana Catering we believe in protecting the environment and the beautiful Waikato region. Our sustainability will be an ongoing journey which will improve with time and experience. We have introduced the following policies and practices in order to protect our environment and support our community.
Reducing, Reusing & Recycling
Montana Catering have implemented a ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ policy, particularly in our office environments. This includes not printing unnecessary emails or other documents, printing double sided and in black and white where possible, reusing office paper and stationery supplies and recycling used office paper. Other initiatives include recycling food waste by way of donating it to a local farmer, collecting used milk bottles for recycling, recycling cardboard and using biodegradable packaging where possible. We are currently researching ways to improve our recycling systems.
Energy & Water Conservation
Montana Catering have converted our diesel vehicles to run on used vegetable oil from the Montana Catering kitchens. This reuses a product that would otherwise be disposed of, and has the added bonus of reducing our carbon emissions and saving on precious fuel resources. All staff are encouraged to reduce energy consumption by turning off power points at the wall, turning off lights and appliances when not in use, not leaving taps running and switching off computers, monitors, printers and fax machines at night.
Making a Positive Impact on our Community
Montana Catering supports our community by buying locally where possible and supporting local events and fundraising intiatives. We support local charities, organisations and schools by way of donations, sponsorship and fundraising partnerships.
